Chris and Vanessa’s South Farms in Morris CT Wedding

Intimate and Beautiful South Farms in Morris CT Wedding

As a photographer, Vanessa and Chris’ South Farms in Morris CT Weddings, is one of my absolute favorites. From the beautifully designed natural elements that are brought indoors to compliment the man made, to the rolling pastoral hills, to the fantastic team that brings these weddings together from to finish, South Farms is a must see as you start exploring wedding venues. Let’s break down a few of my favorite parts as we highlight Chris and Vanessa’s intimate fall wedding day. It really doesn’t get better than this! Make sure to read all the way through, if you want some details about pricing and inclusions to their packages. South Farms takes it upon themselves to provide wonderful tips and venue information on their website and I’ll share some of it here!

South Farms in Morris CT Wedding Ceremony in the Barn

I would be lying if I said I don’t want at least every other ceremony to take place, right here at South Farms in Morris CT, situated right in the rolling hills of Litchfield County. The stunning light installation was custom made for the space by the owner of South Farms – and you can tell – in the best way possible. It accentuates the space perfectly, and adds a magical perfection to it. Love and care went into every element here. Natural elements are seamlessly blended with man made, so that the transition from architecture to nature happens smoothly. The couples clearly love it, guests were swooning, I was in heaven, and to boot, the South Farms team is a group I would work with again and again, and will continuously recommend to couples. Enjoy the up close moments of the lighting and a few other details from the space; like the harsh light from the window perfectly silhouetting their newly wedded hands! Vanessa and Chris couldn’t have picked a more perfect space to celebrate their love with their closest family and friends. If you are looking for a whimsical, yet upscale barn wedding venue in Litchfield County or the greater Connecticut area, I would consider South Farms in Morris CT.

The Outdoor Space for South Farms in Morris CT Weddings

South Farms is surrounded by rolling hills, and verdant green pastures. It is idyllic and picturesque and I couldn’t think of a more beautiful location to celebrate a wedding. The landscape is great for environmental portraiture (i.e. photos with a gorgeous landscape) and the white barn is beautiful. Whether in front of the iconic Sam Paletsky East Morris sign, or around the side by the winding steps, rock wall and wooden steps or in the actual pasture, South Farms is full of pockets of beauty and gets the most stunning light at sunset.

Rich bold fall colors for a South Farms in Morris CT Wedding

Vanessa and Chris selected rich, bold reds as the center of their fall decor. There were some warm, oranges, golds, and yellows mixed in with the greenery but the red brought everything together. The reception space that Chris and Vanessa used was ideal for a more intimate wedding reception! There is a much larger barn that can be used for gatherings with more guests! But the warm wood, and antique feeling brought everyone close together. The cake, floral decor, and catering were also fabulous.

An Intimate Wedding Reception at South Farms

Vanessa and Chris made the most of their reception by mingling with their guests. They invited friends and family who were important to them so they made a point of speaking to everyone! The patio space had a fire going, and the green space for cocktail hour was enveloped by late afternoon sun, and speckled with umbrellas and overhangs for shade to enjoy cocktails and canapes. Dancing to high energy songs by DJ Stephanie Stardust was a highlight of the evening for sure! Check out the final photo in this gallery, Stephanie provided uplighting and it was EVERYTHING for Vanessa’s dance with her dad.

Rounding out the night at South Farms….

They rounded out the night with time for night portraits on the bridge with the string lights lighting up the night behind them, and a few stars in the distance. Their coverage concluded when we finished their nighttime portraits, but I always like to snag one last moment as couple’s rejoin their guests. Chris and Vanessa could not have asked for a better day surrounded by more loving friends and family.
